Honor Caregivers
Peter & Karen Ford
No one is ever prepared for the day when your life is turned upside down. Suddenly you go from being the child to the caregiver. You can no longer call your time your own. Now you have a person living with you who is almost completely dependent on you. How do you cope?
You cope by sharing the load with your family. Our family came together to do what was best for our mother. She came to live with each of us in turn before she passed away. We all cared for her in our own way. It was never easy, but we did it. We cared for her. We sacrificed our personal freedom for her. She was a wonderful mother and we saw it as our turn to do for her as she did for us.
